They start testing and tracking the students in Kindergarten. Some of the students are still 4 years old. Kindergarten used to be about left and right, getting along with others, finger painting, singing and dancing, stories, and reading readiness for some. Now the students are tested and tracked, tested and tracked.
LAUSD added the Dibels Test to all the other tests for elementary school students. Three times a year the teacher must sit in front of a computer with each student for 10 or 15 minutes while the rest of class must work independently without the teacher’s attention. Think about that with 5 year olds.
Tested and tracked for 13 years. Then forgotten.
Like the “Hotel California”, you check out of the LAUSD world of testing, but because you are tracked, you can never leave.
