Change The LAUSD

We have our own Betsy DeVos right here in Los Angeles. Billionaire Eli Broad has announced plans to take 50% of LAUSD schools charter in the next few years. He, the charter school corporations and their associated astroturf groups are funneling millions into school board races on the March ballot. Keeping their pawn Monica Garcia in District 2 is one of their priorities. Garcia supports vouchers, another Betsy DeVos idea that famed neo-liberal Milton Friedman once said is the "ideal way to destroy the public school system."

Let's hear from her opponents including parent Carl Petersen who is running on a platform to oppose vouchers and beat back charter schools. These campaigns are being significantly outspent and need our support. 

Both candidates have been endorsed by the Network for Public Education, the group headed by former Undersecretary of Education and prolific author Diane Ravitch.
